6. If we escape damnation by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, what happens if we leave the path of righteousness?
7. T or F: Christ sits in triumph at His Father's right hand and has no further sacrificial role to play because what He has done on Calvary is finished and all sins are forgiven.
8. What action, according to Scripture, causes us to eat and drink judgment on ourselves by sinning against the body and blood of Jesus, and could even cause us to suffer bodily harm?
9. T or F: Those who know the Lord but have sinned may lose reward but will not in any way suffer God's justice when they die.
10. What person, place, or thing in Scripture is described here:

Answers are below. A note about the answers for the quiz.
Answers:
2. See 1 Cor 11:24-25 concerning the Lord's Supper, the Eucharist
3. Only one verse: James 2:24: "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone". Martin Luther added the word "alone" to Rom 3:28. It is not in the original manuscripts.
4. [d] 2 Pet 1:5-10
5. [F] Eph. 4:22-32
6. [b] 2 Pet 2:20-22
7. [F] The blood of Christ has redeemed us from the curse of Adam's sin by Grace, but we must work out our salvation in fear and trembling (Phil 2:12 ). After we are baptized in faith, sins committed must be repented, for we must be holy as God is holy (Heb 12:14 ). The power and eternal efficacy of Calvary in forgiveness of those sins derives from Jesus' eternal priesthood and ongoing intercession on our behalf, offering continuously the death He suffered once. Heb 7:25, 8:1-3 "But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins." (1 John 2:1-2) The Catholic Mass is an earthly reflection of and an awesome participation in this re-presentation of Christ's sacrifice to the Father in heaven by His Church, His Beloved!
8. 1 Cor 11:26-30 Eating and drinking of the Lord's supper in an unworthy manner.
9. [F] Matt 12:36, "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." Also in Luke 12:47 "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows." Matt 18:34: "In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed." Col 3:25 "Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism."
10. Both Mary and the Ark of the Covenant (see esp. 2 Sam 6:9-16 and Lk 1:43-56). The Church's high esteem for Mary parallels the Jew's reverence for the ark--a type of Mary.
As the ark of the New Covenant, she was created and crafted by God using spiritual gold to be a holy and fitting vessel to nurture, cherish, and serve His (and her) divine Son, Jesus Christ.
11. 2 Pet 3:16, concerning Paul's writings.
12. Clothes, handkerchiefs, aprons, shadows, oil, mud: [Mark 5:25-29, 6:13; John 9:6; Acts 5:15, 19:12 etc. C.S. Lewis said: "God likes matter. He made it."]
13.[F] 1 Tim 2:1, Rev 5:8
14. Tradition: 2 Thess 2:15
16. Nowhere. Neither Scripture nor the early Church ever taught this doctrine. This in no way implies that Scripture is not profitable, useful, and inerrant: 2 Tim 3:16
Do some of these verses have a Catholic "ring" to them? Yes they do and so do many others. We invite you to come home to the faith of the fathers. Call or write to find out more and weigh all the evidence. May the peace of Christ be with you.
