BUT WAIT!

September 11, 2001: Today is not a good day for Americans. We've been attacked on our own grounds and innocent lives have tragically been lost, on the ground and in the air. Every television network is and will be covering this for weeks to come. And it's possible this is only the beginning. But, wait!

Watching the horror of the terrorists' attacks on our nation today, Mitch and I ask, again, the same question we always ask when any calamity happens: 'Why don't the daily 5,000 murderous abortions get this much TV coverage and attention?' Is the burning building's steel and glass, all the dust and ash, so impressive that it makes it more horrific than the hidden murders of the innocent babies being pulled apart from the 'mother's' wombs in our nation each day?

Does all the World Trade Center's horrible deaths even come close to the number of murders of innocent lives at the abortion mills each and every week throughout the US? No. Yet, everyone is so horrified today at this act of terrorism and not as horrified every day at the 5 thousand daily abortions and infanticides, which is a more horrific act of terrorism. Today's horror is new and scary and makes us wonder how far it all will go; on the other hand, our daily holocaust horror of 5,000 little babies is 'common place' and 'hidden' as we also wonder 'how far will it go.' Some day we'll see all of those millions of aborted children and they just might ask each one of us, 'Why didn't you do more?'

Perhaps it's due to the 'hiddeness' of the horror of abortion. Television commentators won't dare show the pictures of the baby's body parts, torn and mutilated. When we morn the innocent lives of these poor people in NYC and Washington today, let's keep it all in correct perspective and each day remember to morn, as well, the loss of 5,000 U.S. children that day. Evil abounds, each day, and not just on September ll, 200l. We all must do more.

I wrote an essay, "Bring Back the Pictures" and it will appear in the November issue of the New Oxford Review. It speaks of this complacency of American people and that the time has come for us to do much more to educate those whom God puts in our path each day to the horrible 'Truths' of abortion. May God have mercy on these United States.
